Keswick
is a unique market town situated in the Lake District. The lake,
which is a short stroll from from Brierholme, has launches which
take you around stopping at various jetties, or for the more energetic
there are rowing boats.
Keswick
is an ideal base for exploring the northern fells which include
many of England's highest mountains - Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Blencathra
and of course, Scafell Pike! For the less adventurous there
are
smaller but equally impressive walks through woods, on lakesides
and lower fells. You might even spot a red squirrel! Public
transport around the area is excellent. We are ideally situated
for guests to leave their car at Brierholme and use the bus.
The
Lake District is also the ideal landscape for many other sporting
acitivites - windsurfing on Derwentwater, rock climbing on Eagle
Crag, paragliding from Latrigg, mountain biking in Whinlatter,
the list is endless.
Other
leisure activities include a theatre, cinema and tropical indoor
pool. You can watch a cricket match at Fitz Park "Wisden -
the loveliest cricket ground in Britain", Pitch and Putt golf
in Hope Park or just stroll and admire the lovely flower beds.
Indoors you can visit the Pencil Museum, Cars of the Stars
Museum and the Victorian Museum. There is a varied selection
of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants to
suit
every taste and most within a 5 minute walk of Brierholme.
There
is a magnificent golf club near to Keswick with panoramic views
of Blencathra and Skiddaw. Click
